Eastern Box Turtle 1

Just for the record, this lil fella is NOT A PET. Eastern Box Turtles are regulated in most states. In My state, NC, you allowed to keep in your lifetime, four box turtles, or PARTS of box turtles. If you see a turtle please do NOT "rescue" it by bringing it home and feeding it lettuce for three months. Box Turtles have a homing instinct, if you take it away from where it was going it will just try to get back there, and feeding it lettuce for three months pretty much guarantees it will starve to death while hibernating. The BEST thing to do if you see a turtle in the road, is to help if across in the direction it is headed, and then leave it alone.
